durbala *mp3 (download 192k 4:39) ("dark light" outake) An Indian inspired piece that begins with a fretless bass drone with overtone harmonics. It gradually unfolds into an east-west hybrid of sitar, udu percussion and electronic beats. I had origninally intended to have more of an Indian feel throughout the album, sadly, this piece and a few others did not complement the balance of the other tracks. Here it stands, unfinished... |

basm III *mp3 (download 192k 2:14) ("dark light" outake) Literally translating to "imprint" in arabic, basm is a delicate style of oud playing that uses the pads of the fingers in exchange for the usual plectrum to strike the strings. This piece is a variation of the basm theme from the album. An important series, in my opinion, using multi-tracked oud that is processed and obscured into a shroud of ambiance. |

ruhsuz edit *mp3 (download 192k 4:41) Ruhsuz is my variation of a karshlima with some ambient texture thrown in for good measure. As with most of my tracks, it suffers from an inability to end in a reasonable amount of time. Here is a remix that cuts it down by a few minutes. |
